How can a girls soccer team can maximize their chances in winning CIF?

A girls soccer team can maximize their chances in winning CIF by by performing training drills that require balance, power and agility to reduce to risk of injury.

A female soccer player is eight times more likely to injure her ACL than a male soccer player. Researchers believe this may be due to differences in hormone levels on ligament strength and stiffness, neuromuscular control, ligament strength and fatigue.

Jumping and balance drills helps improve neuromuscular conditioning and muscular reactions and ultimately shows a decrease in the risk of ACL injury. Agility drills helps you strengthen your legs by practicing the same cutting motion you do in a soccer game.

These exercises typically increase speed and strength and build power. These are the type of drills Southlands girls soccer team would do to have a better performance in soccer. We focused on these drills in preseason.

When training to reduce the risk of injury you have a more healthier team with fewer injuries better prepared to win in CIF.
